These terms apply to your use of the Jacobson Painting & Decorating website and to painting and decorating work we carry out for you. By using this website or engaging us for work you agree to these terms.

About us

Jacobson Painting & Decorating is a locally owned painting business operated by Bobby Jacobson, based at 8 Mark Street, Colac VIC 3250, servicing Colac and surrounding coastal districts.

Use of this website

You agree to use this website lawfully and not to misuse the contact form, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or interfere with how it runs for other visitors. Information on the website is provided in good faith for general guidance and may change without notice.

Quotes

Quotes are free and based on the information you provide and our on-site assessment. A written quote remains valid for 30 days unless we tell you otherwise. We may revise a quote if the scope changes, if additional preparation is required once work begins, or if hidden issues are uncovered (for example, rotten timber or unstable existing paint).

Carrying out the work

We use premium paints and materials and aim to complete every job to a high standard. Start and finish dates are our best estimate and may shift due to weather (particularly for exterior work) or matters outside our control. We take care to protect your property and leave the site tidy at the end of each day.

Payment

Payment terms are set out on your quote or invoice. For larger jobs we may request progress payments. Invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice. We accept bank transfer; other arrangements can be discussed.

Workmanship & warranty

We stand behind our work. If something isn't right with our workmanship, please tell us within a reasonable time and we'll come back and put it right. Manufacturer warranties on paint products apply separately and we'll help you with any claim. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Liability

We carry public liability insurance for the work we perform. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to our work is limited to re-performing the work or refunding the amount paid for the part of the work the claim relates to.

Cancellation

Either of us may cancel a booking before work starts by giving reasonable notice. If we've already ordered materials specifically for your job, the cost of those materials may be payable.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
